Filled Under: Bike ride
You see whenever I’m alone I tend to brood.
But when I’m out on my bike
It’s a different mood
I leave my brain at home
Get up on the sattle
No hanging around
I don’t diddle-daddle
Got out for a ride today and I feel much better for it. :-)
Well it starts as a joke like a stick in your spokes
Or removing the bolt of the brakes
Then the bicycle flips
Crushing ribs smashing hips
And he broke every bone in his face
A good workout. I had to slow it down towards the end, but
This story’s getting old
The home wrecker with the heart of gold
Keep you locked up in the trunk of my mind
I got in a rare Pre-work ride today! Of course it was only because I’m not on until noon.
It felt good to…
Why be alone when, we can be together baby?
You can make my life worthwhile.
And I can make you start to smile.
Another ride today. Nothing spectacular, though there was a lesson to learn:
I dont know what you’ve done to me but I know this much is true:
I wanna do bad things with you.
Super fantastic, that’s what this is. I love my new gadget! This is way cooler, and much more in-depth than I’m capable of doing myself. (see below)
It’s been a long week, and it felt great to get out for a ride. If I can get into a better pattern, I might start doing quick 5-10 mile rides after work. So long as I’m on the road by 7:30, I’ll be back before dark…at least for now. That will of course change as winter approaches.
Unlike any past year, where I’ve made “resolutions” (i prefer “goals for the year”) I’ve actually accomplished several. I have them written down, but Jackie has the list, and of course my memory fails me in everything that’s on it. I did Finally get my FOID card, that was a goal. Within the next few months, I’ll be signing up to take my Conceal Carry class, I’m excited about that. MI was a conceal carry state, but I never applied for it, and I moved down here just as I started to put forth the effort. M’eh, now I’m more motivated to accomplish my goals on the list. It’s a lot easier to do when I have so many more resources available down here.
That’s all I have to say on this B-E-A-utiful Saturday! Auf Wiedersehen!
76 Trombones in the big parade…
I was going to put in a real post about my rides and whatever else came to mind, but I’m tired now, so I’ll leave you with just my ride stats from this weekend.

Trip Time: 1:41:24

Max Speed: 24.24mph
Sun:

I got a new Cycling computer today, when I get it installed, I expect to be able to provide a better picture of the rides (not that I think any of you are all that interested, but m’eh)..
Get up, stand up! Stand up for your rights!
So, I’m being a cliche’. I’m in a Starbucks and I’m blogging. I feel dirty.
Moving on…
Life has been keeping me busy as usual. Work and play both. On the home front, My kitchen is in need of a good scrub down. I never got to it’s weekly cleaning because it took me all of last week to rearrange my living room.
In regards to my living room, I’m still adjusting, but I don’t regret it at all. There’s a significant increase in my
Champagne for my real friends.
Real pain for my sham friends.
Looking back on today, I got off to a slow start. But, I quickly got things into a good speed and knocked out a few things which were in dire need of being done. I went for a good ride of 18.6mi (solo because Jackie was taking care of her business as well), then I got my laundry and Blue washed. both which I’ve been putting off for too long.once that was over, I cleaned myself up and made some nums. that’s when things stopped being productive.
I allowed myself to be distracted by a very entertaining computer game “Plants VS. Zombies”. I lost track of time and didn’t do anything else until it was time to go for a BBQ. In hindsight, this was not a good use of my time. Well, hindsight’s 20/20.
the even bigger waste was that on top of all that time gone, I played PVZ for the rest of the night until almost 1am…GAH!
and on that note, I must sleep.
Try an enchilada with a fish Baccalà
Hey Mambo!
*Warning* My thoughts were kind of jumbled when writing this. I jump around a little.
Went for a ride to chocolate fest yesterday. It was such a gorgeous day, I could have ridden for hours. Of course Chocolatefest was also clogged with so many people not paying attention to the world around them, that I could have also clubbed people over the head for hours. M’eh.
Sleep brings release, and the hope of a new day.
Now if I could just fall asleep for more than an hour at a time…
Anyhoo. My last ride was 3 weeks ago, as I’ve been out of town the last two weekends.
Travel time: 1:51:42
Total distance: 23.77mi
Average speed: 12.8mph
Max Speed: 31.3mph
I don’t remember most of the ride (since it’s been so long) except that I broke a spoke on my rear wheel while I was on the trail. The rear wheel wasn’t too terribly off true, but I don’t own the tools to take off my rear cassette. I made some minor adjustments to keep it from rubbing and called Glenview Cycle to check the hours and potential cost of the repair. I liked it, and I’ve been doing all my cycle business there lately, so I set out. Long story shorter, the repair man fixed my spoke and informed me that the spokes on that wheel were pretty tight. He advised that if it happens again this season I should replace the wheel now, but if not, do it at least before next season. I agreed, since it was the 3rd spoke to break on that wheel this year.
This past weekend I ventured up to Northern WI
