Over and over, again and again. You come through the door…

…and I’m stumblin’ in again.

It’s a B E A utiful Friday outside, I know because I can see it through the window. This past week, in spite of it being shortened thanks to Memorial Day, has felt like it’s been dragging on. Now that today is here, however, I feel physically refreshed. Of course this could be entirely due to the fact that I was able to get some extra sleep this morning.

I’ve been watching more TV lately, but not on TV. Rather I’ve been watching more Netflix lately. I discovered that the Windows Media Center plugin for Netflix came across in an update sometime over the last month or so and I’ve been taking full advantage of the "Watch Now" section of movies and TV Shows.

In my Netflixing, I’ve found that I’ve become bored with most of what’s on. The shows I watch are in the off season, and the selections on Instant Watch are becoming less and less appealing each time I look. I guess I just need to put some more miles on my bike. That’s exciting. :-) I’m just over 160mi on the ODO, and I think that’s not counting my first ride which was ~30mi. That seems like a lot until I stop an think that my typical rides are 15+ miles and on more than 1 occasion, I’ve hit the 30mi mark. You should all com visit and we can ride the Des Plaines River Trail! Just don’t forget to bring a helmet.

On another track, please be mindful of how much email you’re keeping. Is it really necessary to keep an email that’s 5 years old? Yes? Really? Then perhaps you should save it into a Word Document, or PDF. Do you have lots of attachments? are they the only reason an email is important? Maybe a better place for that attached file is on your hard drive, or better yet on your company’s file server. Although Outlook can function with your bloated mail store, it doesn’t like it. You’re taking a risk with every email you have, not to mention the system load you and your colegues are creating on the server because there are 30 of you with >5GB mail stores. Do you fear the change that is best practices email usage? Then you’re going to have to talk to the CFO, because your hardware isn’t built for the load you’re creating. That’s why it’s slow, because you suck. You suck up all of the system resources by refusing to take ownership of the problems you create. Clear out your deleted items, delete your sent items (at least yearly), and for frakks sake, save your attachments elsewhere!! It’s not my problem that when you edit the attachment, and then lose it because you were using the attachment as your working file. That’s just dumb. Shut up, go brush your teeth, your breath stinks. GAH! now I’m ranting.

I quit. Auf Wiedersehen.
