So a little about myself…This part of the site has always been difficult for me. It just seems so presumptuous. Come to think about it, it IS a bit redundant. Isn’t the whole purpose of the blog itself to tell you about me? What more do you need to know?

Well for starters, My name is Thebirn Rummnaheim…You idiot, that’s not our name…so! they won’t know…duh! our name is in the URI!… …oh…
Ok, let’s start again.
For starters My name is Brent Marnati (as I assume you already knew before coming to my blog to begin with. Why else would you be here?)
I’m interested in all things tech, though I often get bored with it real quick. I play games and work on the computer. Most of my time from waking to falling asleep is spent in front of someones computer, server or network equipment. I have a cat. His name is Lt. Commander Geordi LaForge (just call him Geordi) and he’s an orange Tabby with the classic tabby “M”. If you know what the “Morris cat” is, that’s pretty much him. Geordi and I don’t watch a lot of TV, but when we do it’s mostly Sci-Fi, Star trek in Particular. Geordi’s favorite character is Spot from TNG (he thinks she’s hot), but his favorite series is Enterprise. He thinks Prada was a good actor and was furious when they replaced him in the second season with Breezy and Windy. Something he still rants about when we watch STE. I however prefer TNG. It’s probably just my familiarity with it, but what ever.
Our other favorite activities have come to be petting Geordi, feeding Geordi, snuggling Geordi, brushing Geordi, playing with Geordi and if there’s time, he lets me play on the computer with the best girlfriend ever Jackie…so long as he can sleep in my lap while I do.
He’s lived with Jackie and/or me for over 2 years (2 years Nov 27th 2008) and he turned 5 this year. In the end of 2007, we moved to IL and this past spring, we moved to just inside northern Cook county (by 1.5 miles) and have been “living it up” in our wonderful 1 bedroom apt. Geordi says that although he misses practicing his MMA skills on the other cats, and snuggling with Hannah, he enjoys not having to share his toys, food and territory with the big dogs.
I, when not paying attention to Geordi, play a lot of LOTRO:MOM. But alternatively, I try and get regular exercise via my mountain bike or on the equipment in the fitness center at my apt complex. I set up a TV and started playing God of War II on my PS2 as well. The carnage is stress relieving. I also read and play Brain Age 1 + 2 and Flash Focus on my DS.
I have a Bachelor’s in Computer Information Systems and though it feels useless, I have it to thank for opening me up to computers as more than just something you use at the library. Now I make a profession out of them. Hooray technology!
Hooray Geordi!!
My favorite (read as “only”) girlfriend earned her B.S. and moved back down here this past December. It’s nice to have her around, even if I don’t see much of her outside of work (we work together). We still play LOTRO together though, she has surpassed me in play time and level/profession. Hooray!
I guess that’s really all. I don’t know if any of it’s good for an “About” page. Actually, it feels more like a first post to me…Whatever.
