Lockdown started shortly after my birthday, in March. As I begin writing this, it is the second week of August. In that time I have been furloughed, come off furlough, had a possible (ultimately a mistaken) COVID-19 exposure, moved into a new apartment, been laid off, had a visit from my mom, and enjoyed countless hours of D&D via video chat.
It’s not been an easy 5 months…for anyone.
And STILL I feel like I’m trying to solve a puzzle I’ve had thrust upon me without my request. A puzzle made from my life, broken into pieces, and I wasn’t given a picture to use as a guide.
I’m too distracted tonight to keep writing so I’ll finish with a line from one of my favorite songs:
“But you really need to listen to me
Because I’m telling you the truth
I mean this
I’m okay (trust me)”
